Stone House

Beverly Hills  |  2022

Scope: Kitchen, foyer, and powder room renovation.

Services: space and kitchen planning, interior design, millwork design, lighting design, and furniture selection.

The goal of this project was to bring the family's fun, funky personality to their unique 1930's-era stone house.

The result is a hybrid -- where traditional shaker and shiplap millwork is modernized with colorful paint, graphic wallpaper, and bold fabric and furniture.

In order to gain more space in the kitchen, the renovation eliminated the existing formal dining room. The long, staggered island replaces a dining table and supports both in-kitchen family dining as well as entertaining.

In the foyer, where one is always greeted by dogs, a new tile walk-off and two built-in closets create a functional entry for kids, dogs, and guests. Contrasting paint on the ceiling and trim work brightens up an otherwise dark space.

The existing fixtures in the powder room were heavy and oversized, making the small room feel even smaller. Playful color contrasts make this space lighter and brighter.
